Education and
Research Foundation
Mission: to expand and strengthen the delivery of eye care. We strive to accomplish this by providing support to Allied Ophthalmic Personnel (AOP) and the development of education and certification initiatives.
The International Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (IJCAHPO) established the Education and Research Foundation in 1990 to help fund the many needs within the ophthalmic medical assisting community.
The Foundation’s mission is made possible through the generous support of its contributors. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today to support scholarships, grants, and initiatives.
The Foundation provides scholarships for AOP seeking financial support with continuing education, certification examination fees, and tuition towards an accredited ophthalmic training program.
The Foundation offers grants to assist AOP with continuing education and certification examination fees.
Special funds support AOP through awards such as the Virginia S. Boyce Humanitarian Award for distinguished public service and the Harold A. Stein, MD, FRCSC Prize for Best Scientific Paper.
Your Contributions at Work
The JCAHPO Education and Research Foundation has awarded over 10,000 grants and scholarships, totaling more than $1 million dollars. Your donations provide certification and continuing education support, making a direct impact on AOP and the patient care they provide.
